This might be for the best. It might be also turn out bad. Totally depends on whether the new buyer supports and really wants to invest in what we do here.

What’s your problem with ClashTalk ? We aren’t a GMG blog, we’re a community just like Oppo. We mostly spend much of our time grilling GMG’s bad writers and Kinja trolls.

We don’t. The last time Kinja was potentally on the cutting block we really couldn’t make up our minds on a replacement. We could just start a forum like a lot of other car forums...however that opens Oppo up to vendors, paid memberships, more ads , and so on.

Currently the fallback is the oppowonk slack, which has dwindled in members but is still very active, but is in no way affiliated with oppo at it's core and is run by other oppos

Honestly, I’m not even against many of the blogs going away. Aside from Jalopnik’s writers, all the best Gawker talent set sail for better publications. They either need to clean house and pretty much start over or just scrap many of the blogs.

Not every reader may like or agree with the other websites 100%, but a large part of this network’s value is in the ability to share and crosspost from one site to another. We’re stronger together. Destroying that would be extremely dumb.
